Practice 3: My First Paragraph
Is The Lord of the Rings the best book to movie adaptation ever made?
The Lord of the Rings is arguably one of the best book to movie adaptations because it solves the main problems that those adaptations usually find: staying faithful to the original material and finding a cast that can make the characters come to life. The Lord of the Rings trilogy has won a total of 475 awards, which makes it one of the most awarded book to movie adaptations ever. It is very difficult to stay faithful to such difficult original material, but The Lord of the Rings delivers key events and manages to create epic scenes who might even be better than in the book, for example, the battle of Helm’s Deep. Moreover, actors such as Ian McKellen or Viggo Mortensen embody Gandalf and Aragorn perfectly, the same happens with Cate Blanchett, who plays Galadriel. Thanks to its cast and a perfectly written script, The Lord of the Rings might be the best book to movie adaptation ever made.
