Writing Journal 15: Teenagers

Teenagers... probably the most misunderstood people on Earth, and the most annoying, honestly. At 26, it's been a few years since I've been considered a teenager and even when I was one I thought we were annoying.
I understand that the hormonal changes taking place in their bodies make them kind of crazy, but lately I've begun to notice that teenagers are more annoying that they were before. There's just some things I didn't get when I was one and I still don't get them now, for example: why do they need to drink every alcoholic drink on sight? I never drank when I was a teenager and I had lots of fun... They're just wasting money and risking their health, I mean, drinking to the point of passing out? I don't see the fun in that.
Now, they spend all day doing TikToks, which are the most stupid thing ever, and moaning about how they can't go out because of restrictions or why they don't want to get vaccinated. I actually heard a teenager say she wouldn't get vaccinated ever because she hadn't got a vaccine shot in her life... I was like "girl, you don't even know how many vaccines you got in your first year of life".
Obviously, not every teenager is bad or annoying. Some of them are very creative people, with great ideas, and very conscious of the choices they make and how they affect the world. Other have lots of health problems, related to depression or anxiety, I've never dealt with any of those, but I'm sure is very difficult to deal with it on top of everything else.
They also have to deal with a lot of pressure to look like their idols or behave in a certain way. Kids who don't look normative, particularly, have a worst time of it. Being fat, or too skinny, having acne

Well, the lights went out and I don't know what I was saying... I think it was something about looking different that the norm when you're a teenager. I've never had a normative body so I know how that feels, but know, when influencers who look perfect (or photoshopped) try to sell things to teenagers, it might feel even worse to know that you don't look like that or that those clothes won't fit you.
All in all, being a teenager is difficult, but the worst part, honestly, is that being an adult is not that easy either.
