Writing Journal 20: Your First Day in the United States

 14.32 PM.

What would I do if I moved to the States? Assuming I already had accommodations ready, you might think I would start by unpacking, but that's the last thing I would do. I would start by sleeping as much as I could, because after such a big travel... oh and jet lag, that's usually a big concern, but I'm used to having weird sleep hours, so it wouldn't worry me too much.

After sleeping, depending on the hour, I would try to get used to my new neighborhood: best places to shop, to eat in, to order food from... and getting to know new people, that's very important. If I moved I would take my dog with me, so I would have to look for new places to walking and get to know some new people who had dogs who could be his friends.

If I'm honest, I can't imagine myself moving to the States, but I could see myself moving to London. Things wouldn't be much different, in regards to what I would do, I'd still have to get used to my new surroundings and, most importantly, I would have to study the buses and trams I'd need to take to go anywhere. Take my advice, if you're moving somewhere, get used to the way public transport works, and fast.
